Yeah...yeah...I know a woman doesn't really NEED  a man.  Many a friend has shared that opinion with me...not to mention Ms.  Steinem.  So this a.m. 7-ish.  He takes my car, gases it up  Returns.  Backs it into driveway.  I emerge from back door.  He carries my laptop and places in backseat.  Bids me adieu, emphasizing be careful.  I make it 3/4 of the way up the driveway.  Slide and am stuck.  I can go forward nor backward.  As I'm dialing from my cell phone to ask him for help, I find him back at my driver side window.  Roll down my window and tell him I'm stuck and ask him if he will get me out of it.  As I step out of car, he says, "Be careful, you'll fall and grabs my elbow."  I'm secure.  He gets in.  With ease of a gazelle backs all the way to where I had begun, drives smoothly to the dry asphalt of the road.  I am awestruck.  I guess for me it's the little things.  I get back in car, he emphasizes, "Be careful", with a kiss on the cheek.  As I drive away, I watch him walk through the dimming morning to the light of our den.  Yeah...yeah...I am a strong woman, intelligent, secure....no NEED of a man, but to me, kinghts are in high demand.

It was some 40 years ago that Gloria Steinem proclaimed that “a woman needs a man like a fish needs bicycle.” It was the ultimate enunciation of radical feminism.
